Pallet Stretch Wrapping - Rotating Arm - Model Revolution

The Revolution stretch wrapping machine is a robust, four post design, fully automatic rotating arm machine. Installed in a conveyor line the machine requires no operator intervention other than to change the rolls of film. The use of powered rollers to pre stretch the film before application greatly increases the yield from a film roll and also improves load containment. The standard Revolution range is available in three modes, low, medium and high speed with the high speed unit capable of 80 pallets per hour depending on the number of revolutions of film required.

To compliment the range Atlanta Stretch can now offer a twin headed option which raises the capacity of the machine considerably. The unique design mounts both wrapping heads on one drop arm - this means that "top inside" is still possible. Costs are also reduced against double arm systems as only one film cut grip and weld unit is required as well as a single point of entry to the machine for reel changes.

Every automatic stretch wrapping machine from Atlanta is custom built to the exact customer requirements and specification. All items of the build can be specified including the PLC, pneumatic components, drive motors and inverters, even the colour of both the moving and static parts of the machine. The top sheet cover can be applied before, or during the wrapping process to give a dustproof or waterproof wrap. At the end of the sequence the film can be welded to secure the tail against the load or, if the side of the load is uneven, such as sacks, the film can be "tucked" under previous layers of film to secure it.

Cut grip and weld

Standard pallet sizes are 1200mm x 1000mm and 1200mm x 800mm but smaller loads such as half and quarter pallets can be wrapped as well as load heights over 3000mm. Atlanta can also supply large swing machines to wrap oversized loads.

The rotating arm is supported on a large industrial ball bearing and driven by heavy duty gears giving outstanding duty cycles. The pinion to drive the arm is on the outside of the assembly making maintenance easier.

Revolution arm drive

In recent times, there has been an increase in automatic systems that require to be loaded from the floor using ride on or manual trucks - normally, a system like this would require a lifting device to raise the pallet to the required wrapping height. The traditional method is to install a section of conveyor mounted on a pneumatic lift which usually requires a hole to be dug in the floor. Many factories will not allow such pits so Atlanta have developed a system that gently slopes upward to the wrapping machine eliminating the need for any pits. These sloping conveyors act like a bridge and when the wrapper is in motion they drop down out of the way - this allows the pallet base to be wrapped as well for no additional cost.

Revolution low level infeed

To comply with CE regulations, all automatic stretch wrapping machines must be contained behind fence guards with anti personnel light barriers to the pallet openings on the infeed and outfeed conveyors. Atlanta can supply the Revolution complete with these safety features or not in the case of integration into a safety cell supplied by others. Atlanta have made significant design changes to reduce erection time on site, thus, installation time is greatly reduced.
